Save Trees And Recycling Society.

Hiya everyone! We are the Save Trees And Recycle Society, otherwise known as S.T.A.R.S!  We are Pippa, Liz, Alice-May, Jenny and Amber and We are basically just 5 people who care about the environment. Is that so hard to believe? And before you start thinking we're hippies or tree huggers I'll tell you now - we're not. We just want to make a difference.

Ok to start we want to set up a recycling system throughout our school. We've already sent letters to all the some members of staff at our school about this situation and some have replied saying it's a great idea. Our plan is to create an effective affordable recycling system in school. After all with all the paper we use we desperately need one!! We propose to put a box in every classroom, so if a piece of paper isn't needed anymore it won't just go on to fill up a landfill site to rot, it will go to a place where it will be sorted into different categories plastic, paper, metal, textiles and glass.

These materials will then be able to make new things from tin cans to aeroplanes it all makes a difference and saves Earths' precious natural resources. Even putting your old Coke bottle in the Recycling Box, that little coke bottle can be made into anything from windows to just another can, anything is possible. Your tin can could be  made into a new fleece for someone to wear!

Onto our next proposition - In our school we have a school newsletter called KESPRESS. If I'm being totally honest barely anyone reads it! Most of them are either left strewn around classrooms or shoved straight in the nearest bin. This wastes tons and tons of paper. If a ton of paper chops down 17 trees, think how many trees we kill just to feed the bins? This is a pointless activity and we're are trying to make KESPRESS into an email form. Save paper, Save trees, Save the World.
