In many countries, a form of identity may need to be carried
at all times. Check with the embassy or travel agent. Photocopies of
identity documentation are recommended to keep in your luggage and
on your person in the event of loss or if challenged.

1. Visa needed.
2. Don't try taking food or potential disease carrying items e.g., wooden
items, with you. It will have to be dumped or declared on arrival. |
| China |
1. Visa needed. Cost generally depends on how soon you need
it!
2. Departure taxes are usually required at airports, although this is
rarely made clear until you try to get through into departures!.
3. Carry some form of identification at all times. |
| India |
1. Visa needed.
2. Personal security is a big issue. Only accept lifts from
pre-paid taxis paid from inside the airports. When transferring from
international to domestic terminals, ask at the airline desk if there is a
shuttle bus and exactly where it goes from. Hotels can arrange for a car
to collect you.
3. Water quality is poor. Safest option is don't
drink bottled water unless you open the tamper-proof band or you hear it snap! Ice shouldn't be used unless you make it
yourself using bottled water. Bottled drinks are probably safe, e.g., Coke
etc. Be careful of Coke machines though, the water probably comes
from the main supply!
4. Avoid salad and other raw vegetables etc, as it will probably have been
washed in water.
5. Natural yogurt and Masala Tea may act as a natural 'disinfectant'.
6. Drink plenty of water.
7. Vaccinations probably needed. Malaria tablets may be needed at various
times of year. |

1. Don't take food. Illegal!
2. Wooden and other 'natural' items will be inspected.
3. Departure tax payable. About £5. |
| Thailand |
1. No Visa needed for UK passports.
2. Departure Tax of 500Baht. About £9.
3. Taxi to city - Max 400Baht. No traffic - 200Baht. Limo from airport -
